Summer Study abroad at the Sorbonne is proud of its affiliation with one of the most prestigious and famous universities in the world. Founded in 1253, centuries of history hallow in the halls and classrooms of the Sorbonne’s various buildings throughout the fabulous Latin Quarter. The University allows us to combine an outstanding education with the vast cultural assets of European history. The University provides the foundation for our educational site and the city of Paris provides one of the most exciting classrooms imaginable.

STUDENT LIFE AND FIRST CLASS LODGING

For maximum security, all participants in our Summer Study abroad at the Sorbonne program are housed in one residence, an All-Suites Hotel, a short metro ride away. Each 2-room suite is ample space for 3 or 4 students complete with individual beds, private bathroom, TV, telephone and a small kitchen with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Our Summer Study abroad at the Sorbonne staff live with our students and are there at all times to provide supervision and assistance. Daily continental breakfast (petit dejeuner) and dinner are both included. Our unique Dine-A-Round dinner plan offers our students daily choices of French, Italian, Chinese or American style cuisine in restaurants close to our residence. An exclusive SSIP feature!

The hotel lounge is a great place to meet and just “hang out.” There is plenty of time to socialize with your new friends...friends from different backgrounds, friends from around the world, friends from different ways of life and different cultures, friends to laugh with…FRIENDS TO KEEP FOREVER!

FRENCH IMMERSION

There is no better place than Paris to study French. To mingle, dine, shop and chat with Parisians on a daily basis…to be immersed in the language and culture of France is incomparable to classroom instruction alone. French immersion at SSIP combines challenging classes, for College Credit or enrichment only, “speak French only” sightseeing excursions organized daily, support of a fully bilingual staff and, for those students who desire the greatest French immersion, the opportunity to share rooms and meals with each other. For students interested in French immersion, SSIP is for you!
