Penn State Summer Courses

6½-Week Penn State Summer Program Curriculum Information

Summer Study Programs 6½-week college credit program offers qualified students freshman-level Penn State summer courses taught by the distinguished Penn State University faculty, along with attending PSU students. Most Penn State pre-college courses earn 3 college credits. You may CHOOSE a Penn State curriculum which includes one college credit course (3 or 4 credits) and either an enrichment course/workshop, an EdisonLearning™ High School credit course or a Kaplan SAT or ACT prep class.

The following selection of credit bearing Penn State summer courses is currently available for all Summer Study students. Penn State University reserves the right to change course availability (add or delete courses) and alter scheduling. An updated list of all course offerings and more complete course descriptions will be sent to all accepted students in the spring.

EdisonLearningTM High School Credit Classes

The following classes, offered by EdisonLearningTM and Summer Study Programs, are available for high school credit to all 6½-week, 6-week Triple Play and 3½-week participants. These high school classes may be used to get ahead in one's high school curriculum for the upcoming school year or to recover credits from the previous school year. EdisonLearningTM will assist students in gaining approval from their local school district in order to gain high school credits. Final class selections are made in the spring. These classes are taught completely online, instructor assisted, and will require students to "self-pace" their efforts in order to complete the course by the end of their program or by a September 30, 2012 deadline.

Availability of all enrichment courses/internships will depend upon the interest and registration of accepted students.
