ABOUT PENN STATE

Situated in the center of Pennsylvania and surrounded by the cooling Appalachian Mountains, the PENN STATE, UNIVERSITY PARK campus is one of the nation’s most beautiful campuses. The central campus of 540 acres is only part of the total 15,500 acreage that includes 2 Golf Courses, 48 Tennis Courts and a 72 Acre Lake! Penn State is one of America’s premier institutions of higher learning. Almost every state in the United States and most countries worldwide have students presently attending.

The home of the Nittany Lions and part of the “Big Ten” football conference, Penn State receives continuous publicity on television, radio, and in all national media. The exciting “RAH, RAH” atmosphere, richly supported by all students, is electrifying and contagious.

THE ULTIMATE COLLEGE TOWN

Located in the college town of State College, PA, the academic year enrollment of approximately 40,000 undergraduates find themselves immersed in a quaint, yet up-scale atmosphere. The town revolves around the university and enthusiastically caters to the needs of its student population. From bookstores to fashion boutiques…from fast-food to gourmet restaurants…from video arcades and dance clubs to playhouses and movie theaters…from ice cream parlors to French pastry shops...State College is truly the Ultimate College Town!

RESIDENCE HALL LIFE… YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME:

The residence halls at Penn State are alive with “Spirit.” For maximum security, all Summer Study students are housed in our dedicated residence halls, allowing us complete control. Students live with one or two roommates in comfortable and spacious rooms, containing individual beds, desks, chairs, telephone lines, refrigerator/freezer, and a microwave oven. When taking a study break, the residence hall lounge is a great place to meet, watch cable television, enjoy a movie in our mini-theater, or just “hang out”.

DINING

Just across the quad, the university dining hall allows our students another opportunity to socialize. All meals offer a wide variety and selection of tasty foods, prepared fresh daily and planned by a nutritionist. The “All You Can Eat” dining plan includes choices from delicious entrees, salad bars, frozen yogurt, desserts and beverages.

The Penn State campus and town of State College quickly become home to our students and are an integral part of A SUMMER LIKE NEVER BEFORE!
