PENN STATE, COLORADO & VERMONT OPPORTUNITIES
Thank you for your interest in a position with SUMMER STUDY PROGRAMS. The following is a brief summary of positions available in our Summer Study programs at Penn State University, The University of Colorado at Boulder and at The University of Vermont. Appropriate prior experience in these areas is very helpful but not necessary. All applicants, however, should have a willingness to participate and a desire to share in this "once in a lifetime" opportunity for our students.

Staff Advisors:
Most members of our staff are what we call staff advisors (SA). Staff Advisors are responsible for:

Ensuring the health, happiness and well being of our students. |
|
Supervising a specific group of students in and around the residence hall. |
|
Facilitating and participating in afternoon activities. |
|
Organizing and chaperoning evening activities. |
|
Tutoring students in college-credit courses as needed. |
|
Accompanying students on weekend trips. |
In addition to being staff advisors, all Summer Study staff members have a specific responsibility based on their background and experience. The following positions are available:
Enrichment Instructors:
We offer a variety of enrichment classes for which our instructors formulate a syllabus, curriculum, and teach on a daily basis. It is the duty of the instructor to make their class interesting, engaging, and exciting to an adolescent student. Instructors are need for the following classes…

Sports Director & Clinic Instructors:
We offer students a variety of sport and specialty clinics for those who would like a component of athletic skill building in addition to their academic classes. The director coordinates and oversees all sports clinics, tournaments and athletic activities. Instructors design clinics, with the goal of advancing skill and technique, which can accommodate various skill levels of participants. Clinic instructors are needed for the following sports…

Outside Instructors:
Those applicants who would like to contribute to our programs by only teaching enrichment courses are called "Outside Instructors." Outside instructors are not required to live in the residence halls and are not required to attend day/night/weekend activities.
