SPECIAL COLLEGE PREP COURSE FOR STUDENTS TAKING OR AUDITING A COLLEGE CREDIT COURSE
Pathways to College: "Pathways to College" is a mandatory college guidance class that all students taking or auditing a college credit class will automatically be enrolled. It will meet every Friday for a two hour period. This non-pressured class is structured to make the transition between high school and college and easy one, both in and out of the classroom. Emphasis will be placed on the entire college admissions process, from application to admission. Your instructor will guide you through proper high school and college course selection, contacting colleges, completing college applications, pointers on handling admissions interviews, help on essay preparation and the proper way to go about getting letters of recommendation from school and community officials. The importance of college visits and what to look for in the "Right College" for you (school size, geographic location, curriculum, campus and student life, etc.) are also discussed. Lectures will include discussions of time management, term papers and test preparation, note taking, research skills and self-motivation.
(All students taking or auditing a college credit course will automatically be enrolled in this class.)
